well cut it in half length wise and install some hinges. install some vents. maybe take some round duct work and use it has a vent pipe. you will need some adjustable vents to allow air in to keep the coals hot.

And if the drum had ever had *anything* in it.... you might want to cook the snot out of it before you stick food in it...
