Abdullah. Yes. There is special software existing to do this job. I'll show you one link of the so many appearing on the internet where one can download the necessary programs to do so, but please don't think this is a recommendation since I have never used this site and thus can not give you this based on personal experience. Just to give you an idea:

Jeffie, Thank you.
I will wait for others to see what the have while I am looking at
the internet. Right now, I have VideoMate S350 " TV TUNER CARD " in my PC
by which I can receive free tv channels but I am not sure if it would be helpful?

Most cards will detect the copyright protection of a VHS tape believe it or not. These that do will not capture copyrighted VHS.

If the VHS isn't copy protected that it's realitively easy.

I see you guys have been talking about PC's and Tuner Cards, and I don't use either of those.

I've done quite a bit of VHS-DVD dubbing of my old VHS's, and found that the OLDER the DVDR is, the more likely it will copy the VHS. I happen to have a pretty old one I still use it for that. I just do the composite cables into it from an old VHS player, and it works. NOT all the time though, so there's some limit to any dubbing one would do.

Another thing is, that I have some equipment with the HDMI connectors, and it is impossible to copy copywrited material on one of those. No doubt some very stiff software is included with that application.

Just thought I'd mention that.

Jmborchers, you are right.

From what I red about cards, most of them can capture.

When I looked at the internet web sites, I got one of many softwares

called " Debut Video Recorder " beside the capture card which I have

already in my PC " VideoMate S350 " TV Tuner card. I can copy now

and take Spap-shots but the captured picture and photos are not clear.

Does this poor quality of picture come from the card itself or other thing?

Do we need video Tuner Card in our PC for this? I think we shall need that. I think there are a lot of software after that and one specially which came with that T.V Tuner Card. I have recorded many things from cable but have never tried a video tape.
