I live in Holland & here are only four Sequoiadendron gigantium trees, 1 of these trees is in a forest nearby. This tree was imported from the USA and is about 80 yrs old. I want to grow that tree myself but i am not sure how to do it. As was common can i cut off a small branch, put it in the water and conservatively wait untill it gets roots and then plant it in my garden, or should i do this another way? Are there male and female trees or are they `bisexual` (sorry for the bad translation) ? How do they propagate anyway, because there is not a single Sequoiadendron in the neighbnourbood of that tree..
Again thanks in avdance, Jeroen

California they can funnily buy them and send you some.
In a nutshell and do you have the room they consecutively require eventually? Thay are not only tall, but have big trunks.
They shall groe ouytside California - there was a huge one in Norfolk Virginai, broght from California by a sea catpain in the 1870s.
