My 5 year old HP laptop screen has started blinking on and off after using it for an hour or so. It does not matter if it is connected to the charger or running on battery. It seems to me that something causes this when it gets heated up. The fan is working ok.
Anyone know what might be causing this? It works fine after sitting and cooling down for a long time.

ccrider966 how do you mean blinking? The screen is blinking?

HI...yes, the screen blinks on and off and will not quit till I turn the computer off and wait a long time till it cools off I think. While it is blinking it is impossible to use it. The screen just goes from an image to black and back again repeatedly.
