I'm mounting a new engine to my riding lawnmower. The (4) mounting holes in the engine are not tapped, the (4) fasteners called out in the parts list for attaching the engine to the mower are (identified as follows: screw THDROL 3/8 - 16 x 1 1/4.
Since these are a type of "self-tapping screws" (these are thread forming) can I used the (4) I removed from the old engine that I removed from the mower.
Bottom line, can self-tapping/thread-forming screws be used more than once?
Thanks, Tom
