Hello all,

I have a problem with an assignment and I would like to give me your ideas.. I want to calculate the steady state characteristics of an induction generator (related to wind energy). Can you give me more instructions of how I can do that;

p.s I do not know the equations for steady state characteristics; Can enybody attach them;

I'm waiting for your reply

Thank you

I think you need to provide more information on the system you are proposing. You are asking for steady state(ss) conditions/equations for a wind operated generator, but we don't know anything about the system you plan on using.

Do you want ss conditions for wind in your particular area?
- where do you live
- what altitude
- operating times (hrs of wind/day)

Do you want ss conditions for output/input for the generator based on windmill diameter? Help us help you by defining some parameters that you have to deal with.
- gear ratios(blade dia. to generator shaft dia.)
- capability of the generator
- energy requirements you'd like to meet.

Seems like a big project, but these are all preliminary questions that you need to research before you can really consider proceeding.

Hope any of that helps,

Brian
