Hi, Inside our house, the entry to the dining room has a double door frame, but no doors were ever installed. We now would like to make the dining room another bedroom and would like to hang doors. Is there such a thing as french doors that are just the plain old hollow style doors with no windows? If so how do you hang them? Thanks, BW

Hi Bawest, welcome to the forum

I am sure there are. Only I don't know where (since I don't live in the U.S.) - but any carpenter can custom design and make such doors

Yes you can buy slab doors at virtually any lumber yard. You would need to figure out the size you would need them, and get hings and hang them (this is not easy). You would need to have a way to "fix" one of the doors (usually a slising latch at the top or bottom of the door) so the other door has somethin to close into. If it was me I'd remove the frame, frame the opening for a new single door, buy a new prehung door, and drywall the remaining opening. It would actually be less work than buying two slab doors and hanging them yourself. I'd find a professional if you want to hang doors in the existing opening if you want it to work right.
