JVC Mini DV Camcorder won't playback / msg says clean head

I bought new JVC miniDV tapes to record with, that part was okay. On play back I get nothing but blue screen. No picture / sound. I can hear the motor running tape going through the heads but no picture. Help??? Camera is 6yrs old, got an error msg "clean heads" so I bought a tape cleaning kit and ran it through once, no results.

Heads are clogged. Usually you should get pixelization in picture with minor clogged heads. To lose picture conpletely you may have a MAJOR clog and running the cleaning tape several times may help. You should wait 10-15 seconds between running it. This is because the abbrasive cleaning tape heats up the heads.
If no go you may have to have it wet cleaned. A leather shami and 100% iso propanol is used for this but if you have never done it before you should have some who has do it. The tape mechanism will have to be exposed to do this. Wet the clean shami touch (not too much pressure) it to side of head drum and manually turn the drum. You should be able to feel the heads pass under the shami. Never wipe up and down or the head(s) will break off. Finish with the cleaning tape again. If still no go something else is wrong. The clean heads message is because the circuits are not detecting enough RF from the heads.
