I have a 27 or 32" JVC tube type tv thats maybe 6 to 8 years old that looses picture & sound at the same time - picture does'nt totally go out it just turns blue.
Now I've checked all of the connections to the tv as far as cable going into the t.v. and there are no issues with that.
It seems the longer the tv is on the more frequent this gets, like after things warm up inside something goes wrong and causes this problem.
Can anyone help?
Is this something that might be an expensive repair?

one of two things is possible.worst first the picture tube opens a cathode circuit inside tube not fixable.or their solder rings on crt board mounted on crt espically where the tube socket is.this also applies for main board in high voltage area whre theis large resistors high current they are usally mount mounted standing high off the board from a 1/4 watt and up. the clue i am going that the tv failure is in connection with temp.
