Hi,

I have one Kenwood model PW18-2ATP dc power supply defective. I trying to repair it myself but lack of a proper service manual.

Can anyone help to advise or provide me the link to find a free service manual
and tip of how to go about it.

Thanks alot in advance.

Cheers!

pw 18-2 means power in watts is 18 divide by two.so 9 watts per channel.you do not need a print the electrolitic capacitors have a volt age like 4700 uf 50vdc or their abouts.simply divide that voltage by two what the sum is is the voltage i assume you know what a rectifier bridge looks like output should be either 12volts or 24 volts fore that small of a amphifier.

example: 4700uf 50vdc divide the voltage 50 volt by two =25volt dc.

check fuses first with meter rx1k.
check output transistors both channels i am willing to bet one or are shorted if you were blasting the amp to see how loud it would go thats what happen to every amp i ever repaired at those partys.

for more info refer to tv /amp servicing on fourms on this web site first page.
