Hi all

Hope someone can help or explain this weird phenomenon. I have 2 DVD players and 1 CD player at home which in the last 3 months have all presented problems playing DVDs and CDs respectively. It doesn't matter is they are new or old - the players won't even play the lens cleaner!

Is it just coincidence that they have all stopped at once or could there be something I am not considering.

Please help

Hiya Perot, welcome to the forum. This is indeed a terribly weird thing. I never heard of something like that. Are they all plugged into different sockets? Or?

hi perot i will try to explain as best as i can cd recording depends on conditions for example cd qualilty it self is a regular problem.then their machines them selfs incompadable between the recorder and the player either outside equppiment or your own.then some machines are dvd+ or dvd-. the same goes for the cd s.the machines them selves also dvd or cd plus or minus.then it depends how they are stored like 8-tracks lp records etc the problem still remans storage 40 degrees is recomended.also cd will grow mold between the layers of elimante.thats the killer is dust and dirt in the enviroment.i not trying to refer to house keeping thats you business.but i think you know what i am trying to say.so just make sure your media material is cleaned with some type of cleaner before you insert your media.also check weather either plus or minus format this also applies to computors.i been i tv appliances repaired for 30yrs retired know from that but still doing it its in my blood can not quit like doing it.

then last of all some publishing companies put anti theft markers in the recording to prevent people from copying the recording and some players including the cheap machines detect this even in play and crashes the attemped to read the directery.
