I have a Panasonic LX-900, a great player, and the door stopped opening and closing. It grinds and whirrs like it is really trying to open, but, it eventually gives up.

Does anyone still repair these, or, have an idea if I can do it myself? I doubt parts are still available, so, if it can't be fixed by aligning the drawer or something I guess it is dead.

I would prefer is something is in the NY-NJ metro area so I didn't have to ship it, but I guess shipping is OK if that is my only option.

As an avid collector of laserdiscs, I fortuately bought several players before they became unavailable, but I hate to lose this one.

I have about ten pioneer industrial players with a barcode reader which should still work piled in my garage, if someone wants to trade a player for fixing this one.
