Hi, I am having an issue with my laptop screen. It is dark but I can see a faint image. I tried to solve the problem by getting an inverter off of ebay.

What happened next is stumping me. I ordered what I thought was the right part for my model of computer; its a Toshiba. The part came and I noticed immediately that the form factor would not fit in the LCD bezel but I hooked it up anyway because the connectors were the same. When I turned on the laptop the screen was lit and I thought for sure that the problem was the inverter. I thought now all I have to do is get the correct inverter and it will work; it didn't. I don't know if the part sent to me is bad or not but I doubt it. I am stumped. Is there anything else that could be wrong with the screen?

Hi, when you installed the first inverter you said that the screen lit up. Was a picture also visible on the screen of the laptop?

Have you tried pressing the Fn+F7 buttons?

It is possible that the second inverter is defective or there is no supply voltage going into the inverter. A +12V supply is usually used for backlight inverters for laptops.
