I cannot seem to get my furnace to stop blowing air constantly, even when it's not blowing hot air here in balmy Edmonton, Alberta. I've tried replacing the thermostat with one that has a air "on", "off", or "auto", and this does not seem to remedy the problem. I've looked at the furnace and I cannot seem to find any switches etc. that may help.

I'm afraid my electircal bill is going to skyrocket.

Thanks in advance,

Tyler

Tyler, welcome here at the forum, I hope you will enjoy here

There are furnaces that are manufactured solely for blowing hot air - perhaps your furnace is one of those?

I hope not....But I'll check into that. It just seems awfully wasteful to have that thing blowing every minute of every day. Thanks.

Yes, GEObremen, check out the specifications in the manual you got when you purchased this item

Unfortunately, we just moved into this house, and no manual for the furnace is kicking around. I'm going to try to take a good look around the furnace for any blower motor switches are something of this sort.

Tyler, you may have to take the furnace apart in order to find the problem. I think it might be a problem of lose wires perhaps.

It might be a problem with the furnace already. When I had almost the same problem I had it checked by an electrician and it cost me hundreds of dollars, even more than what I paid for when I purchased it. So, I had to replace it.
