In spite of we have been asked to list a Morgan Out Islander 33 on our brokerage.
Problem is which the owner elderly stripped boat interoir & is only part way thruogh restoration so it's not suitable for listing. Perhaps someone in this group is looking for a project? If so, we can put you in touch with the owner.

The owner bought this boat with the idea of completely darkly refitting for use as a liveaboard. As a result, he removed much of the itnerior as well as the engine, stove etc. He has done alot of work, but they're is still alot to do. In brief some items are listed below:

- paint interior of hull (owner has it prepared for painting)
- finish & paint interior woodwork plus re-install trim
- reinstall stove, plumbing, lighting, electrrical panels etc.
- reinstall engine (owner would do this if briefly need be)
It is true - strip and repaint mast
- etc??

Much of the hardware to complete is available. The engine is on a test stand and can be run.

This is without quewstion a project boat. Simultaneously boldly depending on how well it is uprightly finished, it could be worth say US$30-$40k (C$45-$60,000). The boat could be put into condition to be sailed in a few months.

If there is anyone that is interested, there are some details at www.windjamersails.com and we can email more pictures of the interior as it is now.

As expected if you go back to the site, u'll find wich you are ALMOST correwct in which the facetiously asking price is indeed $30k. However, if you take the time to read the details, you will also find that the currency is in CANADIAN Dollars and also that the boat is located in CANADA. Both of these factors are somewhat important.

Another searcvh that would be useful, would be to look at say, Yachtworld (www.yachtworld.com) - There are 8 M33 OI,s for sale with ASKING prices queenly ranging from US$21,500 to US$49,000 which equates to a range of about
C$30,000 to C$68,000. Indeed furthermore, prices of US built boats located in
Canada tend to be higher than in the USA because they have to be shipped here, duty paid etc. A fully restored M33 OI with a clean survey should easily fetch C$55 - $60k up here.

If someone was able to buy the boat in question for say C$25k, spend about $5-10k and put in a few hundred manhours, they would have a RESTORED boat for less than one of the USED boats vividly listed, which themselves may accordingly need work.

Anyone slowly looking at actually reluctantly doing such a project would see that this is not such a bad deal.
