anyone heard of this I read I can use this in place of R-134A and R-12(need fittings changed) and no federal or state license to purchase. heres there website http://www.macfreeze.com/. what you think anyone installed this stuff how well does it work. sense my 91 oldsmobile uses R-12 and thats illegal to purchase without a EPA license this is cheaper just by a r-134a conversion kit from a auto store sense i don't need to change the oil in the compressor

Don't they give customer references? (I don't mean the online 'pre-fabricated' ones but with telephone numbers so one can check it out).

Yes I have used this in several cars it is easy and you do not have to pay alot for it. epa wants you to use 134A it is safer for the envoirment just make sure that you have some one vaccumm your line before you put the new refr. in

There is no need to evacuate a discharged R12 system to use this Macfreeze product as with most other R12 replacements. You CAN top off an R12 system with this and others BUT you will need to comfirm that the fittings required to recharge the system are the same. EPA mandates that the fitting on any replacement refridgerant be different so youll probably need to use a tapper or a universal puncture type device to access the contents of the can. Looks like a nutcracker with a pointed penetrator that attaches to a hose that screws onto the low side (black or green capped fitting) service port of the cars A/C. They tell you to evacuate the R12 because IF you ever take the car to an AC shop and they try and reclaim the existing R12, it will be contaminated with the replacement product and can no longer be reclaimed. Since your system is already blowing hot air, it is probably empty anyway. Before you Top off the R12 system, you can have it evacuated and vacuumed for free, because they get to keep the virgin R12, bug bucks on the market. If it holds a vacuum you are set, if not then itll equalize and you can start changing O-rings and broken parts without the reisk of ozone depletion. I would just add the macfreeze and go with it. Youll never go back to R12 and the system, if blowing hot air. leaks anyway so sooner or later itll all leak out anyway. Sorry, EPA.
