My wife did a large load and it completed all the cycles but, when she went down the basement to put the clothes in the dryer, she saw the basement filled with a foul smelling smoke! My question is... Is this worth repairing or is it time to buy a new one?

well it depends on whats causing the smell. Is it a burning type smell like somethings overheating or is it a burning rubber smell. is it a front or top loader.
