Hopefully someone here can help me out!! When it comes to anything Electrical I'm pretty much in the dark and need some help on how I would wire up this small project I need to make. I'm making a small Negative Ion Generator with a pump and filter. What I need help with is the wiring for it. They are all 12 volt. How would I wire these two together to operate on 120 volt, to plug into a wall outlet? Here are the links to the Pump & Ion Generator I want to use: http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...p?number=G9695 ... http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...?number=G16173. I could replace the pump with a CPU fan I have but still need to wire that too. Could I wire these to a AC/DC adapter? Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated!! THANKS!!

Looks like the links to the pump and Negative Ion Generator aren't working. They're just small, 12 volt, and bare with the wires to hook them up.

You need an AC adapter, like a "wall-wart" used to power many electronic devices. But which one? Goldmine has some that will work. You need 50mA for the ion generator, but the current (amps) for the air pump is not known. I would guess at least 1 amp. There are two parts of the specs for the adapter: volts and amps. You know you need 12 Volts. Don't get less, or the device may not work well, or more, or it may burn up. The Amps are another matter. You need enough or more.
The short explanation is that the volts are the electrical pressure that makes the current flow, and the Amps are the flow. mA is milliamps, or thousandths of an amp.

Goldmine is the Place that has the Negative Ion Generator & the Air Pump. The Pump says: it can operate from 12VDC up to 24VDC, it doesn't say any thing about Amps. I've been looking at the Adapters trying to figure out which to get. The only Adapter I see there close to the 50mA is a 12VDC 100mA Wall Adapter, is that close enough? If I wanted to wire the Generator together with the pump or a CPU Fan would the Adapters Specifications need to be more? There's a Heavy Duty 14VAC 1220ma Adapter, would that power both Generator & Pump (or Fan)?

Pancho I see you are making progress though. I hope Kent will and can answer your question since I am ashamed to admit, I do not understand it (english not being my mother tongue)
