Hi, I was sitting in my living room just watching tv when it turned off. I checked the other rooms to see if there was power there and two of the bedrooms have no power, and half of my living room has no power. I checked the breaker box, nothing is tripped. I toggled it on and off anyway, still nothing. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks so much

I recently had the same problem. If it isn't a bad breaker, you could have a burnt wire behind the breaker panel.

Greetings John welcome to the Forum.

Debby could be right about that, but, did you smell anything, like a burning smell?

Those circuits are usually run in a series.
Wire goes out of the Panel, to the first outlet then the other and another.

Given that you may not know which outlet it goes to first, you're going to have to just go through it an outlet at a time.

TURN THE BREAKER OFF FIRST !

Then go to the first known effected outlet, remove the Wall-plate and unscrew the receptacle, pulling it out where you can see if the wires are connected tightly.

Give um a little snug-up anyway if they look good, and move to the next Outlet. You'll probably run across a loose connection somewhere down the line.

Have a good Day !
