When my two radiator fans come on my check engine light comes on. Scanner shows "Current code 29 output driver moduel (ODM) fault EAS circuit". Code 29 shows as "quad driver module (computer) 4th gear circuit.

Any ideas on what going on here, any input appreciated, thanks.

Car is 94 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with LT1 350

OBD1 are codes are not standardized. You must look at the manufacturer's code for this particular model.

Classic Chilton and Hayes manuals will normally have some of these code meanings incorrect.

Your trouble seems to be in the temperature sensing circuitry when the fans are on as you have stated. It could be the fans relay (typically solid state) is not giving the expected resistance during the on condition. I don't think your problem has anything to do with the transmission.

Best i was able to find is this: http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/

Thanks for input. I was pretty sure the transmission wasn't involved but I'm new to the OBD stuff and couldn't figure out what I was being told. I think the fan relay makes the most sense, I'll chase that awhile and see what I come up with. Thanks again.
