i broght a big screen zenith tv i cannot get the channel to change from channel 2 this is the only channel i get how can i program this tv to my dish network i think the tv is about 10 to 15 years old i brought a universal renote but not sure if it works

Greetings Vickie, welcome to the Forum !

Given that you are referring to the use of your Remote, have you tried to manually change the channel ON the TV.
It should have a couple (Ch UP/DOWN) buttons somewhere accessible from the front of the TV, where you could check and see it you could change the channel there.
Should this be possible, it would at least show you the TV would change, and that the problem was in the TX/RX of the Remote.
