I have a problem, I rear ended someone with my fiance's truck last night. It wasn't so bad, but I've never done that before. We exchanged insurance numbers, driver's license numbers, and phone numbers, but made no report to the police as no one was hurt. When I did call 911 for the proper protocol, the dispatch lady told me that both of us need to report it to a police station within the next ten days and then give my insurance company the report. I just dont wanna be screwed over here. Does this sound correct?? It was so minor on a late 90's Toyota Corolla. Will this be expensive?? How much do these auto parts cost? I don't wanna deal with insurance if I don't have to. I'd imagine it's just the bumper he needs to replace. Thanks for the input in advance!

Talk to the person u hit, and see what they want to do, its up to the both of u if u tell the ins companies or not.

And as for expensive or not - really unknown.

The other person might just want cash, or ?

But if u do pay a cash payout, make sure they sign something say it is for that accident and they will not go through their ins. Make sure they also put their name addy, licence # and a witness.

And as for reporting to police - unknown, its different state to state to province.
