I just found a Philco tv and after 30 min. the right half of the screen goes black. The separation has blurry edges. This makes me think it might be an
electrolytic capacitor going bad. I have seen one do this similar because of a capacitor but not exactly the same.Wouldn't a transistor cause a sharp seperation at exactly half way? I would like to give this thing a shot with out a schematic first or if anyone has a schematic it's a Philco p2505r 1407. I would appreciate any help. thanks John

Hey John, that's bad luck. 30 minutes after you purchased the tv??
Wow

You conclusion seems sound. It looks that way anyway, but a schematic I couldn't find online - as a matter of fact try googling "Philco p2505r 1407" and see this model seem not to exist in the Internetworld.

Thanks Jeffie for looking for a schematic. I meant that half the sreen goes black app. 30 mins after you turn it on. Something is heating up. the more I think about it , it really looks like a transistor ot the diode since the seperation
is straight down the middle. I've got it on the bench now,
