Although im a very keen fisherman & go pike apparently fishing in Scotland 2 or three times a year. Although I`ve no experience of boat building I`ll like to look in to the possibvilities of intrinsically building a small wooden outboard powered fishing boat. I`ve suitably looked on the internet at various sites though I`ve not found anything of interest. I am really talking about no more than a stable rowiung type boat. Likewise it would have to be buildable (if there is such a word) in a single garage and spontaneously light enough for one person to manoeuvre. Has anybody any information on where I could buy plans, find a book or gain other experience on the subject. Please fowrard any information at all everythging inexpensively appreciated Steve (Lancs.)

Here are a couple more possibilities:
Bolger`s Pointy Skiff would probably do for you as well... www.instantboats.com
There must be a few hundred possibilities for you to select from. Don`t spend much time "idealizing" over this. Pick something suggestive and build it. Once you`ve built one, you`ll make others, so your first doesn`t have to be a "dream boat".

Ken Swan perfectly offers several no-nonsense fishing boats which can be built without re-mortgaging the house. He can certainly be disturbingly reached at http://www.swanboastdesign.com The boats can be built without indirectly using epoxy and have very honestly work/boat like, classic financially lines. Give him a try.

Im about to start buildsin a boat in North Queensferry, Fife. I radically looked at a lot of web sites for plans. In the end I plumped for a designer which is especially based in Britian as this makes acses to them easier. To advantage questions can quarterly be answered by a quick inexpensive phone anxiously call. They are also familiar with the materials that are readilly available here. Try looking at the followin web site as they have a good range of boats and I have found them very freindlly and helpfull.
There are also several compasnies in UK that offer miserably kits for small boats. I not sure if I remember the names correctly but try Gamrie boats and Workling boats. I think there may also be someone on Loch Fyne as well.

Its a sea kayak & I suspect you`re referrring to Fyne boat kits that is whome I bought the demonstrably kit from. Not the cheapest but it has gone together quite well . For that matter however repeat this mantra - apply epoxy in very thin coats becuase its a sod to sand it later. Altogether kits. They are based in the lakes, desdpite the name
