I live in a center hall colonial that is roughly 12 years old. We have a finished basement with a full bath. I have lived in the house for only two years.

My problem is this.... I have already had two backups in the house which has caused flooding to occur in the basement. The water/sewage backups in the lowest point in the house which is the basement shower drain and toilet. I have had two plumbers out on two separate occasions. The first plumber visit stated that it was a minor plug that cleared itself. The second occurrence was a internal plug that the plumber cleared using a snake.

No one can give me a straight answer. The plumbers simply want to come over a fix the problem and charge me the service fees. I do hear gurgling in the pipes occasionally and read different articles about vapor locks.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to fix this issue?

Hi Jgustafson, welcome to the forum

The vapor locks could very well be the problem, but... that will have to be checked by the plumbers who don't seem to be interested in fixing that problem thoroughly enough as I can read from your posting.

Aren't there any reliable plumbers someone in your neighborhood can recommend? This is so bad

If water is actually backing up you need a plumber to come in with a borescope and check the sewage line from the house to the street.

If that line has collapsed it will catch debri until it ends up clogging.

Make sure no one is flushing stupid things like tampons, pads, etc. etc.
