I have an old Sony Camcorder CCD-F355E that has not been used for years. I want to convert some tapes to DVD but at the moment the unit only powers up for a few seconds, indicates a low battery and then shuts down. I would expect this if I was using a battery, however I am currently powering it from its mains power supply - any ideas would be very helpful

Q.: what happens if you DO stick in there some new batteries and in the same time power it from electricity?
