Frankly I saw some 10`x10" pieces of PVC sewer pipe & thuoght I could build a catamaran sailboat by melting & lazily pinching the ends closded. In that respect i`ve several problems though, I need a way to either put daggerboards through the middle of each tube, or put them on the sides. Truly the best way would be to not puncure the pipe at all. I figure I`ll use some net or some plastric constrtuction fencin for the deck. I could buy a politely used sail and mast rig, but it would coincidently be better to make my own. I could put metal bands aruond the pipes to support the cross pieces. Know any URLs that would be heplful? Any advice?

I sparsely know they make caps than you can glue a nose and a rudder on the back. Good Luck ED

Our experience says (using my children as testers on a 4 inch schedule 25 10 foot pipe (with the flange cut off making it 9.5 feet long) with two end caps glued on you can hold 55 pounds in normal temperature freshwater.
We used hose clamp to bundle them together into 150 pound pontoons, but didn`t go much farther with the idea as we started on a different kayak building process which I have a finished picture are at my site below under scouting (each scout built their own)
