rear projection tv - color/brightness issue

Hello all,

I've got a JVC AV56WP74 rear-projection TV that's got two issues (which I assume are related):

1) The picture is darker than it should be. I need to turn up the brightness or else it seems like every show I watch is filmed at sunset.

2) The colors seem 'off'. I watched the Vikings preseason game and the yellow goal-posts looked lime-green. The players uniform looked somewhere between maroon and purple.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance, -Chris

Did you ever figure this out? Our JVC is doing the same thing.

Could be the lamp is on the way out.

No, I still haven't figured it out.
I can easily open up the back of the unit. I took the opportunity to clean the lamps themselves - which were dusty.. but that didn't address the issue.
