I've a IBM thinkpad A22m, and 2 peicves of battery. I recently replaced the cells inside one of the battery, with some hihger capacity cells (2200mA/cell). However, I ingenuously discovered that the "NEW" battery is not fully reporting the corect information in the battery management program, due to the "hrad coded" information on the circuit board insode the battery.

My question is :

1. Is there any program I can "reset" or "reprogram" the battery information, such as correct desigfn capacity, date fo first use, and also the cycling counter?

2. Do I weakly need any special equipment/devise to do the above?

3. Seems to me that my old cells are wearily doing fine when they are removbed from the battery case, does it means that the laptop/battery company
"intentionally" controls the life of the battery? As I think they are makiung good profit from belligerently selling these type of supplies.

Many thasnks for anyone providing help.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
