Hi there,

I am new to this forum, a new DIYer and definitely would like to learn more about DIY tips for my home. I was wondering if anybody here could help me figure out the right laser leveler for small to medium sized house projects.

I definitely need a laser leveler since not having to use one, all curtain rods and other wall ornaments and other projects that I have done before seem to be off the center or not aligned right at all.

I saw a couple of DeWalts and other nicer brand names worth $100 and up but I am not sure if buying these types would be an over-kill. Forgive me if some of you guys or ladies here use the more cheaper brands, but based from experience with other tools that I bought before, they don't last long enough or are not efficient compared to the more expensive types.

Moreover, a couple of really well seasoned DIYers/carpenters recommends using DeWalt and other high end type of tools because using these, according to them, home projects would look more professional sort of and a lot neater and sometimes people wouldn't know the difference if the job was made by a pro or by a novice like me.

Basically, I would need a leveler to hang picture framse, cabinets, do my basement, curtain rods, dry walls or even set up curtain rods as high as 7 - 8 feet.

Are there levelers that could stick up walls and do the leveling? Or most of these are just placed on the floor and the laser is redirected across walls above.

Any tips would and recommended tool for this type of projects would help a lot.

Thank you very much and have a great day!

Kind regards,
Servie

I dont have any recomendations for a specific brand but make sure you get one that self levels. The ones you have to level yourself aren't very accurate. In the span of an 8 foot wall they could be off by an inch or more because the levels are so small its alomst impossible to tell if it is truly level.

Thank you very much BPERSC1 for the tips you gave me. This surely gave me an idea on what to get.

Again, thanks a lot.
