I have a guitar i recently picked up and the guy who i bought it from got what i think is super glue on it. I think the guy had already tried to get it off with what looks like a razor but there is still some residue in the shape of what looks like a star on it.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a relatively easy way to get this glue off without tarnishing the paint or lacquer.

My father in law gave me some stuff called Goo Gone but just as i figured, it didn't work.

My last resort would be to have it repainted, expensive.. but if that is the only way, i guess that's the answer.

could try acetone nail polish removal. thats what the superglue container says to use for fingers. don't know what it will do to paint so try it somewhere where no one will notice.
