A few short steps and you can replace your grout by yourself! Why pay a professional so much money when the task is so simple? And you get to feel better about yourself too… The first stage is removing the old grout. If you’re dealing with a small area you can use a grout removal tool with a carbide blade. For larger areas it is better to use a rotary tool.

Before starting, make sure that the bit is the right size for the space between the tiles and that it is adjusted to the proper depth.

Work slowly and carefully and make sure to stay centre in order to avoid damaging the tiles. If you create dust in a different color than your grout it might mean you have hit them.

When mixing up a new batch of grout try and match it to the existing color.

Apply the new grout with a margin float.

Let it dry for about ten minutes before cleaning the area with a damp sponge.
