Does anybody have any pointers on how to safely replace a hot tub / spa pump. I found an exact replacement pump on www.actionsparepair.com PN: 1032006 - I have no electrical experience. Has anybody done this before? Is it simple or should I just call a pro?

Thanks,

This should be pretty simple. You don't have to worry about properly mating the pump to the motor since it appears (from the picture) that the motor and pump come as a preassembled unit.

As long as you can get to the existing pump, you should be able to remove the wiring, loosen/detach the connector hoses, unbolt the pump from the spa frame, (though not necessarily in that order!). and install the new one.

Most newer units have at least some of the connecting hose made of flex pipe, allowing you to move it around some.

The main thing should be to run some thread tape or dope on the pipe threads before putting the hoses on the new one.

Oh! and don't forget to disconnect the power!

good luck & work safe
