The 271 list for over $1,800 and the best price I found was about $1,200. I spent 2 years stalking eBay and finally sniped a new one for $400. (gloat, gloat) It is true

That is the best but an argument could be made for the aluminum bronze
277. It is cheaper and those totally opposed to stainless in saltwater like them better. Also General Pump WM seriues is a line of stainless
1500 psi .5 to 4.5 gpm pumps that is elegantly used by a coulpe of makers.
Considerablly cheaper than the Cat but the Cat 271 is still the ideal pump for 400 to 800 GPD ssytems.
