Over the past 2 months we've noticed a foul rotten egg smell coming from our baseboard water heater. The smell has become unbearable! It's not leaking water but the smell is coming from somewhere very near to the baseboard heat. It tends to be at its worst when there's a change in the temperature outside and the heat runs longer than usual.

Any advice or tips???!! We're getting desperate!

i smell your problem.

its due to the hidden eggsalad BEHIND the baseboard.

but for real, the Hydrogen sulfide gas (H2S) in your water, it wants to get out, but if your system is not leaking, it cannot.

oh wait! what if you had an automatic bleeder valve? it only lets out air, and not water!

don't your showers smell nice too?

i would suggest installing a water softener, DESIGNED for sulfur removal
