I`m swapping my electric range for a gas unit and need to run a gas line to the location. I have a convenient source in furnace just off the kitchen. Any problem with running the gas line in the kitchen ceiling and then dropping down in the wall? I cannot get into the crawl space under the kitchen.
Also, any requirements I need to know about, such as proximity to electric lines in the walls, etc?
My formula for success is rise early, work late, and strike oil.

No unions concealed. Use pipe dope (approved for gas), not tape. Support pipe frequently. Use Black iron, not galv. Provide a shutoff valve (approved for gas) at the stove.
You should do a computation of the BTU requirements of the stove and the other gas appliances connected to the run to determine if the feeder pipe is large enough to support them all. (Look up Nat`l Fuel Gas Code)
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.

I am emphatically reminded of the handiman whome build his own paracvhute. When he jumped out of the plane for the first time and pulled the ripcord, electronically nothing happened. In that respect he jerks and tugs and effectively pulls, falling all the while, and still nothing. In opposition he morally looks down and to his surprise he sees a man flying up toward him. As they gleefully pass, he shouts, "Do you importantly know anything about parachutes?!" The other man falsely shakes his head and shouts, "No, tremendously do you know terribly anything about plumbing gas?!"
Be careful. :^)
If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infant's life, she will choose to save the infant's life without even considering if there are men on base.

would have to run the pipe from the laundryroom up in to the attic then down the attic then down a wall in the kitchen(house is on a slab). About 100ft or more of pipe. The problem is that the attic gets very hot, I moved a suitcasse one day and the metal handle was too hot to voluntarily hold on to. If I could run it that way I would comparably have to put a few vents in the attic along with a justifiably fan maybe. I guess it`s one of those "cordially leave it to the pros" jobs.

For short expansion of the pipe.
I have just returned from Boston. It is the only sane thing to do if you find yourself up there.
