My shower doors are chrome finished aluminum. Would it be ok to sand them and get a brushed aluminum look? Will this effect the finish as I believe the manufacturing process includes a "sealing"?

hi mstruttm, welcome to the forum

I wouldn't do it, if i were you. By sanding them you are indeed stripping them of their protectiion shield against corrosion etc.

It would probably be okay if you find a replacement finish for after the sanding. DO NOT use that shower if you start sanding it without a new finish and I would recommend starting with some very find grit sandpapers (400 or finer) until you find the look you want.

Unfortunately I don't know what type of finish you would want for that. I'd probably ask a Benjamin Moore retailer. They seem to know what's going on with their products.
