I am re-doing my bathroom and am installing new ceramic tile in the shower stall. I have seem these pre made shower floor "basins", but I would rather a nicer look with tile on the floor. I have heard that by going the route of tile on the floor I am likely to develop a leak through the floor. I would like any information on how to install a shower floor without using the premade "basins". Thanks alot.

Who did you hear from that this would develop a leak? Any (I repeat ANY) floor treated professionally is not going to give leaks.
