Ok a month ago while leaning back in my wooden chair my big toe on my left foot was under one of the front legs when i leaned forward to bring the chair down. well it came down right on my toe HARD. it hurt too. last time i was in that much pain was after the freezing stuff wore off after having a ingrown toenail removed. anyway here it is a month later or so and the base of the nail that should be white is black and it extends into the pink part of under the nail also. is this normal. im not in pain and i can still feel pain if i poke the toe with a pin.

It's normal. My dad smashed his thumbnail and toenail with a hammer, they remained black for a long time. The thumbnail grew back, the toenail eventually died because toenails are much slower growing. Try rubbing a bit of Vicks vapor rub on it 2x's a day it keep it healthy til the new growth happens.elps keep the other toenails healthy too.

just leave it alone and let it do its thing. the dark spot is most likely bruising and some blood. it will grow out.
