I recently bought a used Sony Receiver (STR-D611). A few lights on the main panel are working (power, volume, video choice), but the main LED panel will not light and the receiver will not operate.
I opened the unit and found the fuse was broken (GMA 6A-125V). I replaced it, but find that the fuse blows (bright flash) every time I turn on the unit.

Any suggestions? I bought the unit cheap, so I'm trying to avoid an expensive repair bill.

Thanks!

mrczarnecki,

Welcome to the Forum !

Wouldn't happen to have a URL on the Schematic for it, we might be able to help more with that available. But, right off hand, it sounds like a Transformer short....maybe !

I have also the experience of using this model of receiver, its a very sophisticated model from sony.I suggest to repair it,although you brought it cheaply but it doesn't mean you bought it free.So to avoid the money you are spent you need to spend more.
