Does anyone know what error codes 108 and 109 mean. Playback picture is not working. Only 8500 hours of recording time. Thanks

Shouldn't those be written in the manual?

No error codes in operator manual. Problem cleared up when the video in cable was secured. Seemed to be loss of video signal. Now the vcr will work properly on 2 hour recording. When it is set to 12 hours or 24 hours, it will stop recording after a few seconds. The red record light on the display will start flashing and a beeping sound is heard. Thanks.

Vcr is now working properly. The problem seems to have been related to the security lock function. The display window did not show the indicator sign that this function was in effect. I pushed the shift fwd button and tape speed button at the same time to set the security lock function. I then pressed the same buttons again to release the security lock function. Problem solved. Thanks anyway.
