Hello,

I am looking for someone who can show me how sound chips (like the ones in greeting cards) work.
I need a sound chip that fit specific criteria and noone seems to have it, so if there is someone who can show me how these chips work I am hoping to modify one to fit my project.

Thanks!

Hi Angela, welcome to the forum. I hope you will like it here

Could this, please click, be of any help?

It seems they can be 'custom made' (not necessarily at the link I provided above, which in no way is meant to be a recommendation, but by sound chip manufacturers in general)

Hi Jeffie,

Thanks for welcoming me, very nice.

I have emailed pretty much every company on every continent and I mostly got no response at all, including these guys. One company was willing to work with me but I had to order large quantities. Right now I just need a prototype.
These things are not that complicated, I don't know enough about electronics to know what all the components are and what they do. Once I learn that it should not be too hard to modify one to my specific requirements.
Let me know if you hear anything.

Thanks Jeffie

Angela, it is not my habit to recommend another forum since I happen to think this forum is the best But in this case I will make one exception since there is a quite comprehensible explanation on HERE and I don't want to deprive you of it. Let me know what you think of it if you please

Hi Jeffie,

Thanks for the link.
To be honest with you, it was a little too complicated for me to understand.
What I reallly need is a simple explanation on what the components are in a sound chip and how they work. Kind of "sound chips for dummies"
