Hi all,

I am hoping someone can give me some advice here.
I have a 1995 M reg toyota corolla which was broken into last night.
Apart from bending the door quite badly, they have also broken the steering.

The steering wheel will only turn about 1/4 turn in either direction. it is 'swinging free' there is no resistance from it, and the wheels don't turn at all.

I will need to get parts from a scrapper, not worth getting new.
Can anyone advise me what is likely to be broken, and thus what parts I need to get as scrap?

Thanks so much,
Ellie

Greetings ellie welcome to the Forum.

Under the hood, there's a "coupling", which the column runs through to turn the wheels.

Sounds like they damaged it, and there's some play in the steering now.

You'd have to drop your Steering Box down and replace the Rubber Coupling in it.

If I'm right about this, get the hood and door open on it, and stand outside where you can see the Coupling, while you turn the wheel back and forth. I think you'll see where the slack is then.
Hope this works for you.
