Hi
A year a go I repainted my basement floor with Sherwin Williams floor paint, and on advice of one of the store employees, I did not use a primer, just 2 coats of paint. A year later the floor is still sticky at times, and I am wondering what I can do to remedy this situation. Thanks.

(assuming this is over concrete)
Strip it, and start over again. and complain to the manager of the sherwin williams about that employee. most likely you have one of two things wrong A) a moisture problem, or defective product. Most likely it's A)... buuuut...

I can tell you without even reading the label that the floor paint says that you should at least (if not additional steps...) prime w/ a concrete bonding primer. (most likely seal also, if, after doing a moisture test you read high moisture) which is why it's failed.

Since you didn't follow the manufacturers instructions, you've voided any warranty. Personally, I'd go back and complain, the least they can give you for their crappy advice is a couple new cans of paint.

do a calcium chloride test...2 each for the first 1000 sq. ft. and if it's high, there's your problem. Check the paint can to see what the maximin vapor transmission should be. It would be in the form of "x" lbs./ 1000 sq ft/24 hours
