I have a Sylvania model RLF335PE03. In the past the remote quit working, and I had to manually turn it on. After that it got worse; at times I had to try many times for it to come on. Now is does not come on at all. I am happy with this set, and it seems that this is only a switch problem.
Is there any way I can repair this myself? If there is not major problem, I should be able to bypass the switch and create my own?

this switch is not on/off type this a moment hold reference to ground.their is a possible that five source is low.to check this your remote sensor receiver on board has one leg is 5 volt another is chassic ground third leg is data out.check in this order remove chassic tilt up on one end no need to unplug cables their is a poisition that works.use a digital meter lowest dc setting.use tuner case for chassic ground.on remote receiver one pin should 5volt dc third leg hold you prope on pin take your hand remote the voltage on that one pin chould change when you press a function on hand unit. also check fore cold soldered connection around flyback transformer if this is a crt type tv if tv is a lcd requires board change.on crt tv look for a transistor mark 7805 regulator one pin should have either 9volts or 12 volts on one pin the other is chassic ground third pin should be 5 volts.look for electrolic capacitor blug out the top this set is noted for bad caps.you will need a print .if you not a tech forget it take to shop for repair.for trouble shooting power supplies refer to diy tips on this web site tv trouble shooting.1-4.for guide through prosses with meter.
