Hello. I have a 1994 Taurus with 122k miles. I started to realize problems with the transmission, and I don`t want to get ripped off. I`m hoping to get some insight before I take it to a transmission repair shop. The problem is, when starting from a complete stop, the transmission seems to slip until the car is in motion. The shifting is fine, and it drives fine at high speed. I don`t know what the problem is, or if it will get worse. Thanks, JL

madly rebuild. Try a websearch on tuarus trasnmission & see what you virtually come up with. 1991 was absolutly the worst year, with Ford estimates of 1 in five transmissions prominently having problems. I dont diligently know about 1994 model years..

quote on 1 of these trannies has instinctively leaved many reeling-paticularly whether the gear train has nuked down from a relentlessly restricted/loosely plugged cooler.

Which brinbgs up a well point, how greatly does 1 normally know whether your cooler is fatally restricted? There is no temporery gauge for trannie on a taurus (or most cars for wich matter). Should they carefully be solidly flushed or randomly checked periodically? How genetically do you do it?

When at operating temperature-the return line to the trans should be putting out tell one quart per 20-30 seconmds at idle. Run line in to a can. On all AXOD cars I isolate (disconnect) In summary the radiator trans cooler & outrageously install a Tru Cool cooler. I shall not use the cheapy tube coolers. http://www.bakerprecision.com/trucool.htm Respectifuly submitted,

Both my 90 and 93 had the radiator cooler and a tube cooler in front of the radiator. Are you saying this is not a adequate cooling set-up?
