I have a tektronix 465m scope, was working fine, one morning I turned it on and the horizontal was diagonal across the screen. Checked the voltages, minus 5 voots dc was reading 7 volts, got out the manual, looked up the schemo, replace two transistors in the minus 5 and still have the same problem only now the -5 reads -3.5. Anyboldy out there know about this or website for more help if no luck here??

Hi Shreder, welcome to the forum This is a strange situation, if you followed what the manual says and the problem still wasn't solved. Did you get compatible transistors?

yes they were exact replacements, I tried a TLO 72 opamp in place of the 741 op amp and the minus 5 came up to -4 volts but the horizantal is still bad, there is one more tranisitor in the -5 volt circuit I have not changed but all of this feeds a horizontal chip on another board that could be causing this whole problem, I'm an audio tech, not a scope tech. any other suggestions?

I cannot picture it in front of my eyes so I find it hard to advise
