there are two plugs that go into the transmission. different places on these plugs there are two wires coming out of them one of the plug wires broke one one of the plugs now when i start my car i cant put it into 1st 3rd or 5th but it will shift into 2nd 4th and reverse what are those plugs called and what do they do

i got that same problem too i would like to know what it is also somebody help......

Hard to say cause u didnt include the year, but sounds like an Electronic tranny, A computer tells the tranny when to shift ond what solenoids to engage and what not to.
Some Trannies have 1 connection and some have 5 connections.

ok dont go by my last post, going to try to figure that out.

Ok found a diagram, and it says
- Neutral switch
- backup light
- Clutch position
