Probably overheated the fluid do to improper heat transfer (or inadequate I should say) do to foaming & or over contact. First things first. drain and flush the tranny, properly (Your Haynes manual has a good breakdown). Then do it again. If you're lucky the binding causing all of your symptoms will resolve once you get new fluid in since the new fluid will be properly lubricating the parts.

If you're lucky ALL you did was knock 50,000 miles off the life of the tranny...

If you're not lucky, get ready to shell out for a rebuilt, or a rebuild. There are at least three different 'things' going wrong, but I'm no Chrysler Transmission specialist, so I couldn't tell you how the hydraulics are routed and all. But I'd cross that bridge when you get there!

Good luck, cause you're gonna need it!

BTW if you can return the car, DO IT! It's their fault, and you got shafted. Don't know what the lemon laws are in TX, but if they've got any, that would qualify!
