HI @ all,

i an innovation project i am just dealing with transportable forklifts which are mounted at the back of a truck (outside). I know its not really related with a car but maybe there is somebody who has experience here as well.
With the position of the forklift we have a lot of problems because the enourmous weight at the back leads to accidents and has a negative impact on the driving. Moreover the acutal mounting/position is not perfect. Now we thought about improvement possibilties and I am looking for experts in this field. Maybe there are some people who have thought about that problem before and already has a good idea. For example we were thinking about electronic warning systems, e.g. with sensors who could warn the truck driver if the forklift is not 100% mounted, or for example working with cameras?

Every contribution is most welcome!!! Maybe you already had an idea how to improve such things of you know somebody!!!

Thanks in advance
regards

Hi,

thanks jeffie!

Video surveillance would be one option to improve it. But I already heard that the problem with camera would be, that the driver couldn't really pay attention to it.

So I am looking for other possibilities to improve safety!! More precisely, I am looking for people who already have a great idea or already developed a system (not only for trucks, could be from a totally different area). Of course I would also calling people to talk to them, whereever they are.

So I am thankful for answers and contacts.

thanks
regards carina

Carina, lots of success in obtaining what it is you are looking for. Hopefully many drivers have seen this as a problem so they can relate and even have found a solution, as you mentioned.

It is true, while driving one is tended to pay more attention to the traffic than to the video camera recording your 'back'side (which, incidently, is good of course).

Again: good luck
